- Current reigning champion: the current reigning European Outdoor Champion will also be invited to participate in the same event organised in the following European Athletics Championships, where this event will be staged, on the condition that the athlete in question is entered by his federation in that specific event. If a Member Federation has four athletes in that event as a result of this regulation, all four will be permitted to compete.
